Display issue on start-up

Hello, Firstly I hope this is not a replication of an earlier thread - I did look back a couple of days.

I have a PCG-K195HP and occasionaly (so an intermittent issue) when I start up the display comes up at a very low level of brightness - around 1 on the scale of 1 to 9. To be precise the initial Vaio splash screen is ok - but from the Windows log-on onwards is dark.
I presume it is a problem with the power management - however it happens when the battery is almost fully charged and when it is on mains power.
Welcome comments on this - thanks.

Open Control Panel, and then open the Power Options. Go to 'Vaio Power Management' and there you can see you can change the brightness settings for AC and battery. Set AC to it's highest and see if that does the trick,.

This happens when you use the laptop on batteries and on the next boot up you are using ac power.

Thank you for that - that response above seems to make sense thinking about it. I'm not even going to ask why it happens - will just ensure in those circumstances that I start-up on battery and then switch to AC 🙂

Ta for that - the brightness is on max - once the laptop starts like this it is impossible to shift it using the obvious settings altho using an external monitor is ok. I'll go for the response below
