Update(ICS) not working

I am trying to update my fone to ICS but it is not happening, I've tried SUS as well as PC companion, following all the steps but when I put in the USB holding the vol key, nothing happens and my phone just starts charging, pls help me as it is really pissing me off. I have done everything possible.

PS. My SI number is listed in the update list if anyone going to suggest that

ok try this

turn off your firewall and antivirus > press and hold the volume key then connect the usb cable while still holding the volume down key.

your PC should start downloading the drivers

also make sure to restart your PC after installing SUS

Thanks for the previous answer.

Now I am facing a new issue, I backed up my data using companion prior to upgrade, now when i am trying to restore it on 2nd step it says that tap phhone memory card connected>tap disconnect on the status bar. But when I am trying to do this nothing is happening, I mean tapping on the status bar just closes it back but nothing happens.
