Sony warranty!!

Im having a issue with Sony EU, they have agreed to replace my tv that i purchased in November on line from ARGOS.

But will not accept the receipt that i have sent them even though it clearly states RECEIPT has a Vat number registered address, they are saying this is a delivery confirmation only.

i cant believe they are making it so dificult, anyone had issues with warranty claims?

the VAT number registered address etc are lower down but wont fit on the page!
thanks

image.jpgReceipt attached, with address removed(per the moderator) at the top of this picture it clearly says receipt not delivery confirmation, is there anyone at Sony who can help resolve this?

Thanks

Hi @jimred1,

Sorry to hear you're experiencing issues.  Thanks for sharing the receipt image - I have escalated this for you, so someone from Support should be in touch with you soon.

Cheers,

C

Thanks for that, i have spoken to Argos today, they where very helpful, they are going to send over a receipt that will show the vat separately but it takes 3-5 days, why do Sony need this for a warranty claim?

many thanks

Hello C

i have had a email from them today, they still require a receipt with a breakdown of the VAT, why this affects my warranty claim is beyond me, i have offred to work out the VAT for them but they haven’t replied.

if you escalated this for me it still took them a day to respond! The only thing missing on the receipt is a breakdown of the VAT but they also keep asking for the total and VAT number which are both on the receipt.

To start with the technical support etc was great but now it going to cost SONY money they are making things difficult.

i have been a a loyal sony user for 40 years and this was my first warranty claim and was expecting a more positive and helpful response from Sony, all i want is some help from Sony, does anyone have a phone number for the EU call centre?

It seems if you buy online a Sony product it invalidates your warranty if your receipt doesn’t show a breakdown of the VAT which is madness.

My wife’s computer had a fault around a year ago which was also purchaed online from Argos with a online receipt, they sorted this out in 48 hours without a receipt without a breakdown of the VAT.

i dont think i will be buying anymore SONY products after this fiasco. If you can help in anyway this is the case number RE: Sony Support E-mail | Sony Support Email 16148859 [case:16148859][email:327066796]

many thanks

jim

I have lost patience with SONY i just keep receiving a standard format email from them, they seem incapable of actually replying to my points raised.

i wouldnt recommend buying any sony product on line, i wont be purchasing anymore SONY products, 3 weeks with a faulty tv anf no further forward.

I had a similar issue returned to the retailer with the copy I had (not Argos) and thry printed out a version sony accepted.  It has to show VAt paid not just the number.

Good luck with the service centre though  Ive been dealing with them for over 3 months and still have the faulty TV they delivered as a replacement for a broken one and its taking them over a month to sort out the refumd they promised me,  even when Ive dealt with the retailer myself and they are more than happy to refund once Sony give me the required paperwork.

thanks for that, i have spoken to Argos (very helpful) and now received a invoice that shows the VAT.

I actually phoned the call centre Monday,it was near on impossible to explain my problem, then emails they send are just standard formal replys without answer your questions, 3 months is a long time for them to resolve things.

i had already sent them a picture of the language page as requested for the warranty claim but 3 weeks later they want a new photograph.

i have tried to explain that the back thick lines are hard to see on a dark screen that's why i sent over a couple of pictures of the football pitch  which show the line against a green background, but they didnt really understand.

good luck
