Pairing problems bluetooth headphones

Hello. I'm trying to pair a Sony bluetooth headset with a new Bravia

KD-55XD8505B Android TV. It doesn't work. Would not pair. I got the headset into pairing mode, went to the bluetooth menu in the system settings and hit "add new device". I am nearly certain I didn't do anything wrong. I googled this and found a few disconcerting posts on Quora to the effect that Sony Android TVs don't support pairing headsets without seperate bluetooth transmitters. I hope I read that incorrectly! Does anyone have any advice or futher info? Thanks. GL

Hi @waseem.ahmad

The KD-55X8509C does not have the A2DP profile support required to connect Bluetooth headphones. Unfortunately this means that there is no compatible Bluetooth headphones that will work without the A2DP profile.

For the models since 2016 there is a workaround, before a Pairing you need to install the Bluetooth Pair Application and then try pairing (I can not guarantee that it will work for your 2015's TV). Bluetooth Pair can not find it in the Play Store, you need to search the Internet for the installation of the Apps (APK), then transfer it to the TV via a USB memory and install it with a File Manager (if you do not have one install it from the Play Store ). You have to enable the installation from "Unknown sources" on the TV, find a MENU item with this name.

After the fail pairing my bluetooth headphones with 55-XD8577 TV, I bought the next bluetooth adapter.

https://www.amazon.es/gp/product/B07C2Q79BY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It has an optical conexión and the optical wire is incluided, so the sound quality is great and It works very well.

I can confirm Bluetooth Pair application (downloaded here https://tinyurl.com/y6nrjr6d) did solve the problem and I was able to finally pair my bluetooth headphones to Sony Bravia 55XE8096.
