Bricked Sony Bravia (Was Sony Bravia Crashing Issue Problem)

I have a 2015  KDL43W809C, bought in 2016 and out of warranty. It's been working fine, until yesterday, when it started behaving strangely.

Symptoms are that it will be displaying TV and then jumps into the Home screen. After a bit, the display blanks. Sometimes, the TV then reboots, other times it just sits there with a blank screen. Pressing Action Menu works, but nothing else.

I've tried Factory Reset, but it fails (my google account is still there). 1st Time Setup causes an immediate reboot.

The TV is running PKG5.381.0167EUA and has no apps installed.

You don't say where you are based ?.

In the UK bought 2018 Sony Android from John Lewis with 5 years warranty.

UK based. Bought from Curry's. Standard 1-year European guarantee.

I'm trying to get it to factory reset at the moment, but I'll call Sony on Monday if I have no progress.

Bum!

I found the procedure to execute a Hard Factory Reset

1. unplug power plug AC

2. press&hold volume down and power button together (on your TV not remote)

3. plug power AC

4. keep holding until you will see green indicator light

5. release buttons and wait

6. done you should see soon (about 1minute) setup menu

After doing that, all the TV does is wink it's White LED at me at a slow (i.e. ~10s) cadence. Occasionally, I see that start of the Android Logo, but then it disappears.

At a guess, I'd say the TV is trying to boot, but hits an exception part-way through the boot process.

I've tried the HFR process a number of times, but the results are the same.
