Z5 Compact - Using HDR SCN selection

Hi,

Should I be able to select the SCN option when I chnage the camera resolution to 23MP?

The guide book suggests I should be, but I can't.

Sony support told me to reset/update the s/w on my phone, which I've done,

but it's still not available.

I've look on the web & this forum for a solution but no joy hence the question.

Thanx,

Tim

Hi @Morrti,

It is correct that you can not use the SCN options if you choose a resolution higher than 8 MP but you can enable HDR in the manual settings. The SCN option called Backlight correct HDR is a pre-set that uses more settings than just HDR, though I can see that the names can be a little bit confusing.

Replying to my own post.

Is the HDR option the one this available under the slider options and not the SCN selection.

Is the HDR (Backlight correction) under the SCN selection a different thing?

Confussed !!

Thanx,

Tim

@Morrti Just checked on a Z5c and scene is only available at 8MP (like it was before). HDR from scene will only change settings as it needs (so it will lock your HDR from settings to on). I don't think there should be any difference.
