Sony solution restart the phone, as a temp fix until update arrives, but what do you when you go to restart phone and it freezes/stops dead and you can not do anything else with it:smileyangry:

Auto Rotate function stops working. Sony is going to release software update but no time frame given. Frustrating for a high end product. Be nice if it could just get solved quickly. Looks like it is a widespread glitch.

The nougat 7.0 did not solve the problem. Neither did turning off "location". What now? Another 6 months before an update?

I installed the latest nougat build 39.2.A.0.386 and I'm still facing this issue, at random times it stops working, I turn off and on the screen auto-rotation and it is working again. WTH Sony?? Before you ask I did 2 repairs with Xperia Companion.

Go and reset the app permission. Go Settings > Apps > 3 dot menu and reset the permission.

I suspect that some rogue app messing up with the permission.

Also, if you are using stamina mode, set it to performance. It may be laggy due to battery saving features.

thanks I'll try that next time I face the issue, I just updated my phone to the latest 417 so it may be fixed already.

I'm still facing the issue! I tried the test in the service menu and it is working fine! Then I have to disable and enable the autorotate. Anyone else having the issue with the latest 39.2.A.0.417 ???
