OK so the Xperia 5 and the 1 were released around the same time as the Xperia 10 and 10 plus. They both have the same form factor and the same tall 21.9 screen. The Xperia 5 (and the 5 II) and the 1 (and the 1 II) are all getting the Android 11 update. Also the 10 ii is receiving the update so why isn't the 10 and the 10 plus getting it? It's messed up that the only devices (the ones in the new form factor and part of the 1, 10, 10 plus, L4 and 5 line up) that are NOT receiving the update are the 10 and 10 plus.
It's so unfair as once again sony completely bypasses their "older mid rangers" (which is rubbish as the 10 ii is getting the update and as we see above all barring the L4 are getting the update). The Xperia 10 ii isn't widely available in my region Ireland (I want to buy the 10 ii as I love my Xperia 10 and want to naturally upgrade to the ii) its tied to a contract with Vodafone and Eir and I'm sim free. Also the E partner store only sells to the UK market. I've tried ordering and I cannot chose Republic of Ireland as my country it only has Britain as the option. How on earth are we going to buy the 10 ii when we cannot get it sim free ANYWHERE.
Sony please reconsider pushing the update to the Xperia 10. At least test it and put it through the same testing process as you've done for the eligible devices. It's unfair to us who have purchased the Xperia 10 and the Plus to be excluded and its not really good for Sonys image to not include our devices when they were released the exact time is the 1 and the 5. Its so egregious.
Thanks Éire
