My Vaio VGN-FS315B laptop getting overheated and turned off. Can anyone pls tell me is there anything I can do to sort this problem out. My notebook RAM is 512 MB I want to expand the memory, how should I expand it and where can I buy quality RAM from?
I would be grateful and appreciate if anyone help me out from this trouble.

Most of us here use CRUCIAL Memory upgrades because they give excellent service and guarantee compatibility. You can increase your memory to 2GB (2 X 1GB Modules) for about £30 (£15 per 1GB Module). Have a look here: -
http://www.crucial.com/uk/store/listparts.aspx?model=VAIO%20VGN-FS315B
Look at Page 157 of your User Guide for instructions on how to upgrade the memory: -

For the overheating problem, try clearing the fan and the vents using a can of compressed air. Do this gently to avoid damaging the fan. If this does not work, you may need to open your Vaio and give the fan a good spring clean. If you would like disassembly instructions, please send me an email address by PM and I will send you a copy of the manual.
Thanks Blencogo for your quick reply.
Do you think I can install 2GB RAM in my laptop?
yeah my email address is xxxxxxxxxxx.

Thanks again.

I've sent you the manual as a .pdf
Yes, your model will take up to a maximum of 1GB per slot and you have 2 slots - 2GB.
I've also edited out your email address from the previous post.
Come back again if you have any other questions.
