I just bought a second hand laptop for my daughter and it said in the Ebay advert it had wifi. I'm not computer literate at all. I can't connect to the internet. Is there a quick way to check? Hope somebody can help asap.
Hi alital1 and welcome.
You will need to find the correct model type to be able to find the specifications. It looks like you are quoting a chassis number which may be shared between several models.
Have a look above the keyboard or on the screen surround for a model something like PCG-FX201.
Once we have the correct model we can find an answer to your question.
If it is a PCG-FX201 then it is NOT WiFi enabled - you will need to but a cheap WiFi card for about £5 like this: -
Here is the manual: -

Hi, that's definetly the model number. Its got Microsoft Windows Millennium edition on it too.
Ooops I can see another number on the screen part. Pcg-fx201
Ermmm, where does the card fit into? It may have one in for all I know. He did say it is wifi enabled. I have NO idea what I am doing!
Have a look in the manual - Page 44
If it has one already, it will stick out about 10mm and you will see it easily.
No there isn't one in there, thank you very very much for your help, i dare say i'll speak to you again!
