Sony Vaio VGN-BX195VP Vista Video Drivers

Hi all,

Can anyone advise me here, I have carried out a fresh install of Windows 7 on this laptop and everything runs well except for the video drivers. A vista driver will most likely work fine under Win7 however I cannot find one on the Sony support site / drivers downloads section, there just seems to be the original XP driver.

I am aware that Sony do not support this (Win 7 on this system), but thought you guys might know how to help me...

Hi frrrbp,

Sadly, Intel refused to update drivers for the GMA 900 graphics adapter when Vista was released.  They said that the GMA 900 was too old and unable to run Aero in Vista.

I think Vista used, with some success, the older XP GMA 900 driver in XPDM compatibility mode which worked without Aero.  I think this version was bundled with the Vista Installation Discs.

I think the XP driver is the latest available so most people will leave XP on these older models with the Intel 915 chipset.

:smileyconfused:.
