Please help with SDHC card

I own a sony vaio VGN N21S laptop.

For my birthday, my brother gave me a 32 gb SDHC card which he had preloaded with music using his macbook.

When i put the card into the slot on the front of my computer nothing happens. i go to my computer and click on e drive but it keeps saying insert a crd, its like it doesnt even know its been inserted.

I was worried my copmuter was broken so used an sd card from my camera and it loaded it straight so can only guess it is something to do with my new sdhc card.

I have been on the net all night and downloada the vista servioce pack 2 from windows but it hant helped.

Please can someone help me as i really want to place more music on this card

Hi rmorling,

According to the manual for the VGN-N21S SD memory cards with a capacity of over 2GB, such as SD High Capacity (SDHC) memory cards, are not supported by this model.

So is it a case that Im now stuck completely, or can I purchase a USB reader which I can pop the side of the computer, and then put the card in?

Hi rmorling,

A USB card reader should work fine and cost less than £10 inc. delivery – just make sure that it is SDHC compatible.

There are also a multiple card reader you could use and it is out in the market. You can find it anywhere at a cheap price.
