Please Help! Having problems with my Pioneer DVR-K14 DVD writer in my VAIO!

Hi there,

I have a Pioneer DVR-K14 Dual Layer DVD writer installed in my Sony VAIO PCG-K115B laptop.

I tried burning a DVD from my hard drive with little success as my DVD writer would not even detect my newly purchased blank DVDs! I was using 'DVD Copy Tools' which i downloaded from http://www.clonedvd.net/

The DVDs weren't cheap either! Cost me £30 for a 5 pack. They are Verbatim Double Layer DVD+R 2.4x 8.5GB (DVD-9). Are these not compatible with my DVD writer? According to the specs they should be.

If anyone could suggest what the problem may be or what DVDs would be most compatible i would be very grateful.

I thought that writer was a dual layer writer too.
If you use Nero InfoTool you'll know for sure.
