Hello,
the backlight of my Vaio is out of order. I can use it with an external monitor, and I can see the faint reminiscents of the Windows Desktop in the black screen.
Does anyone know of a way, how I can find out what's broken (perhaps it's not the backlight lamp itself?), and where I can get the spare parts from?
Maybe someone has a broken Vaio with an intact Backlight lamp (if that's the fault, of course) and he or she will sell me that one lamp, so I can find out.
Thank you for your attention,
Thomas
hi ! if i were you ill write to e-support about that problem.
if they cant help take your laptop to a sony technical service they will give the best service to your vaio laptop.
Hi
Take Invoker's advice and get in touch with Sony support as soon as possible. Contact numbers available here. Might be something as simple as a display driver - let's hope so:smileysad:
Problem is it's a classic VAIO, they'll charge you to the hills for a new inverter.
I suggest if you can do it yourself buy an inverter, or yell.co.uk if you can't
