On my FS115B the Norton Firewall is only giving me three months before it needs to be renewed. Do you not get a full 12 months activation with the lappy?
Sorry to disappoint you, but you must renew after three months. I understand that it costs about thirty quid, which is cheaper than buying the software from the shops.
There are plenty of alternatives to Norton¿s Firewall. Avast Home edition is free and an excellent package and a lost less system hungry than Norton. Avast 4 Home Edition.
