Mains adaptors

Can anybody help explain the difference between the mains adaptor model VGP ac19v10 and ac19v3. Both are specified as o.k. for my VGN A397xp. Which do I purchase as a spare ?

I would just look at the one supplied with the notebook and buy the same one.

Thanks for the info BUT why would Sony produce and advertise 2 products the same?

normally ,
If the Voltage output ( 19.5V in this case ) and the max Power ( if it is something like 300W) it's ok .

All AC adaptors are able to handle the American , European, English and Asian power net at once
( 110 -230 V , 50 -60 Hz)

I guess all of you forgot to check the current. AC19V10 has current value of 4.7A, but old AC19V only around 3.5, given the same DC output voltage 19.5V, you got different power in W. I'm not sure if a lower current will damage something in a long term.
