As far as I can recall I bought it in December last year. The is a 1 inch black mark on the screen, spilling like a crack, down along the screen. Cannot see anything properly on it. Just happened this evening unfortunately. any help would be great.

Only Sony Support will be able to give an answer to your question. Contact them via the support tab at the top of this page. As you are close to the warranty expiring I suggest you use phone contact.

Same thing happened to me last wednesday. Just bought mine, EA series last May of this year which make it still under warranty. I have rang the sony service centre but they are saying that it is not covered by the warranty and even assumed that i have dropped it or something like that which has caused the problem. But i know that i havent done anything like that because i have used it the night before. Mine has got like an ink mark on lower left screen and the most left of my screen was just white and i cant see the icons on it. A woman has rang me from sony saying that i need to pay 300£ for the repair which is very expensive and i am not happy to pay that much money for repair as I know that it isnt my fault as the laptop is not a QUALITY LAPTOP obviously. it is really annoying. have you rang the sony though and asked about yours?
