I can't hear anything!

I bought my laptop about 10 months ago, and it's worked fine, but then yesterday the speaker just stopped working. I can hear things if i use headphones, but not from the main speaker. I've tried everything, obviously adjusting the volume, going through the Windows XP Troubleshooting thing, cleaning everything (dunno why I thought that'd help). I dunno what to do now. Any advise?

From what you describe, this seems like a Hardware problem

The last thing you can do software wise is to use the function "system restore" start-> accessories-> system tools
And set the system back a few days.

This can be caused by a loose cable.
