Help on VGP-PRA1

Hi out there,

I have managed to get a VGP-PRA1 for my VAIO VGN-A617B because I need the parallel port for my scanner. Unfortunately I have not found a LPTx in the device manager and of course there is  no possibility to scan a photo.

Has anyone activated the given LPT on the VGP-PRA1 dockingstation.

I would be very grateful if somebody could give me an advise how to go on with that.(I indeed amvery angry!!)

I do not believe the LPT port on Vaio docking stations is a true parallell port.  It is a simple printer port and as such is an output only.  I think it only shows as a virtual port and is probably a USB converter.

If you look at your model's User Guide you will see it it only ever referred to as a printer port.
