Desktop shortcut popups not working any longer after new W7 installation

Hello folks

I have installed a new custom W7 ultime, instead of the old Home Premium, before some boxes poped op on the screen as I turned up the volume or brightness on the keyboard. This doesn't work any longer, but the keys work (fn+f4 for example)

How can I get this back?

OBS: I have an Sony Vaio VPCEB1J1E

I think you mean VCPEB1J1e?

As you have installed your own OS  you will first need to install the SFEP driver from within Device Manager - you should find this device has a yellow warning symbol. Update the driver for this device and point the wizard to the downloaded and extracted SFEP driver folder.

Then install the following utilities in order.

Setting utility series.

Sony Shared Library.

Vaio event service.

Vaio control center.

You will find all of the original drivers and utilities on the Support site.
