upgrade ray 2.3.4 to Jelly bean, is it possible?

I see some old threads regarding Jelly Bean on Xperia Ray and at that times, there was no update. Now any news on March 2013?

My xperia ray has android 2.3.4 and build number is 4.0.2.A.0.62 with kernel 2.6.32-9-perf

Also the phone has not been rooted yet. What is the recommendation for update?

Xperia Ray would not be getting Jelly Bean.

Why are you on gingerbread btw ? you tried ICS ?

I had some plans but still I am using 2.3.4

Are you sure that JB won't be released for ray? If that is the case, then i will upgrade to ICS. However if there is a plan but has not been released, I will wait.

Excuse me, I see this thread http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/35239 and I see Ray in the supported models. What does that mean?

Ray is not supported.

That thread includes all the phones,

Some of the phones will be getting jelly bean and few already have got it. ( Xperia T, V, TX, J)

Unfortunatley Xperia Ray is not amongst them.

Last update for Xperia Ray is ICS only
