Hello Frnds,

As some of u might be knowing that I have recently updated my arc to 4.0.2.A.0.62 which cannot be rooted so as per the replies given by my frnds Uli n others, I took the help of XDA devlopers link and downloaded the flash tool. I followed the instructions on how to take backup of current rom using Flashtool & SEUS. As I came to know that mainly there are 3 files from SEUS update folder which we need to copy and which help us to create a .ftf file as a backup, I thought of creating a .ftf file of 4.0.2.A.0.42 as I did have saved the updates files for the same. I successfully created .ftf file for 4.0...42 firmware and when I tried to flash it using the flashtool, it is giving me some error. Can anybody tell me what might be the problem? Can I flash arc using the previous version of firmware(.0.42) over the latest updated firmware (0.62) ? Please help.. Thanks..

Hey Uli,

thanks for ur reply.. if it works then why is it not flashing with the .tft file I made with the help of Flashtool n SEUS? and also tell me do I need to keep the USB debugging ON or OFF?

to flash leave it off, I wonder if you didn't included a file

ok.. Thanks.. Actually I included the main 3 files from the SEUS update folder while decrypting the them and then created the .ftf file out of it.. anyway, I'll try again.. also tell me if I have included all the files properly while creating .ftf file, I should be able to flash to 0.42 successfully.. right?

I dont know how, but I tried again.. n now it is flashing.. I'll back with the updates soon..

Succesfully flashed! And downgraded to 4.0.2.A.0.42 that too with .ftf file created by myself.. Feeling great!! Hey Uli, thanks alot for ur help as always!!
