My phone has the 6.1.1.B.1.10 ICS update.
Why is it that when I turn my phone off, the phone restarts by itself? The phone turns
off successfully immediately after every restart.
I want to turn my phone off for a period, say 5 minutes, to clear up memory.
It is irritating. This happens all the time.
Please advise.
Thanks,
Eljun

Hi
Do you have any apps that you have moved to internal storage? I ask this because I had the same problem until I moved all apps back to the phone. prior to that i tried factory reset etc... even had the phone replaced just to see the problem reappear after moving some apps to internal storage. moving them back to the phone solved the problem.
Please try running a repair/update:
1. Before you start you have to download the PC Companion software from http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/pc-companion/
and install it on your PC.
2. Once installed on your PC, double-click the PC Companion icon on your desktop to start the update.
Note! For some models you will be prompted to do a backup prior to the update and then restore.
3. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.
4. Phone Software Update.
5. Start.
6. Repair Phone
7. Continue
8. Accept data removal
9. Next
10. Wait for prepare
11. Select Phone
12. Follow the connection steps

Hi Sam,
Thanks for the response.
I already did an Sony Update Service and reinstalled the latest available
software for my phone,
In this case, ICS build 6.1.1.B.1.10.
I am not sure if the repair will solve the problem because it will only REINSTALL
what I've already installed and installed over and over again but has not been able
to solve my problem.
What does repair does anyway? Will it target specific issues on my Xperia Go?
Please advise.
Thanks,
Eljun
Basically it reinstalls the operating system. Much like on a PC this can be done if there are corrupt or missing files in the OS itself causing issues.

Hi Sam,
What could be wrong?
If reinstalling the Operating System does not solve this irritating
problem, what can I do?
TIA

This should be a solution.
All of my installed apps are moved to my Internal Storage.
Let me try this and I will get back to this forum once I do fweddie solution.
Thanks
Hi fweddie
It WORKS! So far so good. I'll get back when I experience it again but it worked for me.
Good job! Hehehe.
No prblem glad i could help.:smileycool:
Yup. Thanks a lot.
Do you know why this thing occur?
In my opinion, restarting when turning the phone off should not
happen even when apps are moved to the internal storage.
