screen blank during/ after phone call, than freezes

ya as stated as the title, some times when i called, or received a call, my screen will turn blank and after the call, the screen remains blank and unresponsive. only way to get it to work again is to unplug the batt or to connect to a charger...

now on android 2.3.4

is it a software or a hardware prob??

pls advice, thanks much 😃

update your phone with this..

http://dl-www.sonyericsson.com/cws/download/1/110/61/1309763183/Update_Service_Setup-2.11.7.13.exe

this will delete all the phone's data so backup all your files first..

how to backup..!!

download any one of the file on your computer . ( if you download this directly on your phone , it will be easy , if not then download on your computer )

Ya...it's the sensor, it stays on constantly, once in a while it will be back to normal (prox off when uncovered, on when covered)

that is not right...

you mean without your hand over it , it shows on..??

you should get it checked with a service centre nearby..

Ya...the moment I went into the proximity test, it already shows it as on, my hand covered or not it still stays as on. =/

Great answer! And very helpful to know this string to verify hardware problems!

However, in my case it seems the display protection irritated the sensor. Once I removed it, everything worked perfectly!
