I can't update my sony ericsson xperia mini

Hello everyone,

I canot update my Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini SI No. 1248-9517. When i connect it to my pc Sony PC Companion it starts but it shows an error " Unable to install or start phone software update components." Please someone help.

Have you tried using SUS?

apparently there are problems reaching servers right now, so just try again.

Try to use this

SUS ( Sony Update Service)  ... download and install it on pc and follow the on-screen instructions http://www-support-downloads.sonymobile.com/Software%20Downloads/Update_Service_Setup-2.11.12.5.exe

I tried it says error occured log file ???

Turn off antivirus and ffirewall .

Allow full access to pc companion and SUS in the firewall's list of exception

try to run safe mode with networking on your pc and then run the update

Try with other pc if problem remains

I read that PC companion runs better on Windows XP, and that's true. When I tried to install it on my Windows 7 PC, it couldn't install the drivers. So, I got my old laptop with Windows XP and it worked, and the update went perfectly fine.

Windows 7, sometimes, don't allow the installation of drivers. There's somewhere you can change this to certain applications, but I can't remember where.

I know there's a way to install programs in Windows XP compatibility mode.  There's somewhere you choose "I'm Having problems with the installation, and it opens a dialog box asking in which version of Windows it worked. I can't remember where, but there is.

After I did this, I could install the drivers.
