I've recently upgraded to build 6.2.A.0.400 and since then it reset all my personal ringtones and I cannot select any of my personal ringtones that i have in other folders. I've tried copying the ringtone to the phone's ringtone folder but always encounter an error about write protection. Please advise as I use the personal ringtones to separate different groups of callers.

Ok, but if you go to a specific contact in your phonebook, edit the contact info, click on "Ringtone" and then click on the note (up in the right corner), select a personal ringtone, save. Does the problem still exist?

If problem still there I recommend you to reinstall the whole software via Sony PC companion:

Start PC companion, start "Support Zone", start "Update phone software" and click on "Repair".

Follow the on-screen instructions.

You should be able to select the ringtone that you want to have:

Go to settings, Sound, Phone ringtone, click on the note (its located up to the right) and then select the ringtone you want to have.

Also you can go to Walkman, click on "My music" and long press on the song that you want to have as ringtone.

Let me know if you are still having issues with the sound picker.

I've tried this and it didn't work. I can't find the note you are talking about.

I tried this and it work but not exactly what I wanted. The special ringtone that I did the long press appears as the selected item but when I click on the Phone ringtone, the name of the ringtone does not appear in the listing of ringtones available.

What I wanted to do is to have the special ringtone appear in the listing so I can assign a different ringtone to different contact in my contact list. I have this special ringtone so i can differentiate between family and business contacts.
