I had the same issue, just buy another phone.
Hi!
For a long long time now, my Sony Xperia M2 has displayed a message saying "Storage space running out" that has occasionally disappeared when I delete cache/data etc. I have an SD card with 10.46 GB left on it, but whenever I try and transfer data to it, a message comes up saying: "Transfer interrupted. Check your SD card for possibly transferred data". Not sure if I'm being stupid, but what the heck does that mean?! It's also affecting apps like Spotify, because I can't download songs anymore even though I thought it was transferring the downloads to my SD card. I can't take photos either, because even though I set it to save photos/videos to my SD card, it doesn't save. Or I can't see them in my photo album, anyway. My other apps are going incredibly slowly now too, because of it. So yeah, I really don't know what to do. Is my SD card faulty? I've been considering buying another one but I don't want to waste my money if there's another solution.
Thanks!
Hi,
I have about 700 mbs free internal stroage space (settings are showing that), but when i try to send something using usb cable my pc shows that i have no free space at all. Even if I delete something, there is no chagne. I have donloaded Xperia Companion but its also showing that I have no internal space. I cant even send a short ringtone to my phone. Please help
Advice provided doesn't work.
Phone's internal memory is 8.00GB, with 504MB available.
I have the best part of a 32GB card unused, but when I try to move Facebook (509MB and 54MB cache) to the SD card, the phone informs me
<Couldn't move app. Not enough storage space.>
This is a recurrent problem. I have managed to move ONE app to SD card.
The only way to move most stuff, if it can be moved at all, is by connecting the phone to PC and using Windows Explorer to drag files where I want them - the Sony software is not user-friendly.
I'll be looking to another manufacturer when I replace this.
Can someone please help my phone keeps telling me I have no storage left ,whats the answer I think I have tried everything
I have exactlty the same problem on my Vodafone supplied Xperia M2 Aqua and my wife ghas the same problem on her O2 supplied Xperia M2. Not enough base memory, can't move apps to our empty SD cards, far too much crap from Sony and from Vodafone/O2 which we don't want but which we can't delete. Can't even send an email without clearing caches and stopping all running apps. Not fit for purpose. Can anyone recommend altenative Android phone which actually works
Dear gents
again back to this story.
It is really annoying property of Xperia that is suffering with lack internal storage. I would like to ask again some guru here.
Why certain app are not movable in app under settings? Move button is greyed.
On other hand another group of app is movable either between internal storage or SD card>
I can not believe that such annoying constraint is matter of Android OS on xperia a such.
On another handsets as Samsung S7 is not problem with application forcibly installed to internal memory which suffer with space.
Personaly I think it is matter of android app not OS itself. I was googling a lot and I could not find mechanism why is some app from playstore installed to internal memory and why is not possible to move such app to external SD card under settings. Where is problem? At experia design, app capability or android operation system a such?
Thanks for any valuable clarification.
Kindest regards
Andy
I too have this problem.
But I'm confused, read on re "internal memory" confusion...
"ES File Explorer" (and my PC) show my phone has 5.0GB of internal memory and 94% is used.
I need more space for APP updates (and I want another APP)
I have moved every thing I can to my 64gig SD card, personal data and whatever APPS are allowed to be moved. I have loads of space left on the SD card.
I decided to buy a new phone with more internal memory. BUT, on looking, many of them, even half decent ones, state they only have 3.0GB of internal memory <shock>
Checking on my phone, the Android OS is taking up 3.0GB alone (I have done all the "clean up" tasks).
I need more internal memory, I don't even mind buying another phone (btw, I realli like the Sony) but don't wont to end up still being short of space for APPS.
Can anyone help me understand what gives ?
Thanks for looking, John B
I also have this phone and the storage is constantly running out, what I have done with it at the moment is uninatalled almost all the updates for the apps I barely use E.G Photos and Youtube. By doing this I now have extra space for random crap. I would suggest you do this and also download a cleaning app by cheetah mobile which is free and cleans out storage, I hope this helped
