I have a one of the above systems which still works perfectly well but unfortunately during removal I damaged the two speakers. I've been offered a pair of Sony SS-A101 speakers would these be a good replacement for the two damaged speakers?

Hi @1964gwe, do you mean SS-AR1? Couldn't find information about the SS-A101. If yes, the SS-AR1 is a very good option as it's 2011 model while the XO-D50CD is 1988 model. Also, you can check more specifications of the SS-A101 here: https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/speakers-wired-speakers/ss-ar1/specifications

Hi Maggie; thanks for the info. I spoke to my local Sony Centre last week and they said from what they could gather the SS-A101's are 60W per channel and the speakers that came with my system are 50W per channel. Anything above 20W is generally enough to give good sound quality so they should be fine. I'll find out tomorrow when the speakers are delivered.
Again thanks for taking the time to come back to me.
