CMT-SX7B doesn't store DAB preset stations

Bought my brand new CMT-SX7B and set it all up successfully, including setting the FM radio preset stations.  But when I try to set the DAB presets, the Menu button doesn't do anything and I can't select 'Tuner Menu'. Or anything.  I have tried to update the software but the message comes back "No need".

Hi David,

Did you do the "Initial Scan" first?

Before you can tune in DAB/DAB+ stations, you must perform a DAB Initial Scan.

When you have moved to another area, also perform the DAB Initial Scan manually to update the DAB/DAB+ service information.

  1. Press MENU.
  2. Press up/down to select “Tuner Menu,” then press ENTER.
  3. Press up/down to select “Initial Scan,” then press ENTER.
  4. Press up/down to select “Ok,” then press ENTER.
Scanning begins. The scanning progress is indicated by asterisks (*******). Depending on the DAB/DAB+ services available in your area, scanning may take a few minutes.

Cheers

Peter

Hi - I have tried everything, including a factory re-set! I have also tried
to update the software but got the response "No need".

The FM stations can be scanned and stored in pre-sets OK, the DAB ones
cannot.

I have done a factory re-set and then scanned for DAB stations. This time,
I scanned the DAB stations before the FM and got a slightly different
result: on the first DAB station I tried to pre-set, I did get a response
from the Menu and was able to pre-set the first station. But then it
reverted back to the problem - on any further stations, pressing the Menu
button achieved nothing at all. Immediately after this I scanned the FM
stations and the pre-setting worked perfectly, as before. But not with DAB.

The problem seems to be quite clear - under DAB, pressing 'Menu' doesn't
work at all (except in this strange case of only the first station after a
factory re-set). I have read and followed the instructions in the booklet
to the letter. I can only repeat - it works for FM but not for DAB. Is
there a way I can overwrite the "No need" software block so I can be sure I
have an undamaged system program by forcing a new software update? (I am
using a USB download).

Unfortunately, in spite of all the marvellous things the unit can do, my
wife and I will be mainly listening to the DAB radio and using the preset
stations!!

Best wishes,

Have you tried unplugging it from the wall and leaving it to depower for a few minutes before trying again?
