Hi ive got a sony kdl-65w85cc tv and a 1980s technics stack system i want to run the sound of the tv through my stereo plse help
Hi there Sydenham1970,
the solution depends on which ports your stereo has.
Since all the stereos I know have at least a stereo chinch input, I would simply get a male 3.5mm (TRS) to stereo chinch cable (male) and connect it to the headphone-out on your TV. The chinch-connectors go into your stereos chinch input.
You might need to adjust the headphone output volume on your TV to a different level, since it is rather quiet on factory settings.
Some TVs even have a direct stereo chinch or a Toslink output which you can use as well.

Hi,
As you are aware I have an old Technics system (remember the remote post ?) and I used to have my television connected to the amp for surround stereo sound. The problem is the age of the Technics unit, it will not have HDMI or optical ports so you are limited to analog sound rather than digital. Take a look at the Help Guide here with reference to the section "To connect an audio system using an audio cable".
Hope this helps ?
