As title said, Why doesn’t the YouTube app for Android TV show comments?

most likely because you can't write one also.

I think that idea was to make it only to consume content and nothing more. Typing with the remote or with remote app would be a pain and not many people would connect keyboard on a TV so they decided to leave comments out.

Well that's ok but shouldn't be good to have choice to see comments especially that lot people go to youtube to see reviews from products and so and many people with smart tv have keyboard. At least should be option.

I don't miss them. But maybe if google ever updates Android TV version of youtube app they will appear.

I completely agree that the option should be there. The fact that some people will find it tedius to use a remote is not a proper excuse to exclude it imo. What about those of us with keyboards?
