Satelite inputs KD48A9

I am expecting delivery of the above set.

I have read the item on setting up satelite tuning but I'm nor sure on the function of the two satelite input sockets.

I have two dishes, 19 & 28 dgrees, I can provide a DiseqC switch. It looks as if the set can control the DiseqC and therefore only one input socket is required. What is the second socket for?

Any help gratefully received.

Hello @mamtor59,

the second socket is there so you can use the twin tuner, meaning you can watch one thing while you record another thing.

Thanks for the response.

I did not realise that it was capable to watch and record a second different satellite channel, I presume to a plugged in HDD.

To offer maximum flexibility does the set require 2 DiseqC?  Can it control 2?

This article is a little dated but it might help, and it is to an external HDD (64 GB or larger).

Thanks for your response,

I will find it easier when I get my hands on the set on Saturday.

I guess it will hep my understanding if I knew why there are two i/p sockets. The article talks of more that 2 i/ps to a  DiseqC switch so that must be an external device.  In a previous post it was stated that you can watch one sat channel and record another, so are there 2 tuners?

Yup, it has 2 satellite tuners according to the spec sheet. It's listed under the "Built-in Tuner" section.
