My TV developed a strange issue I could not find anywhere described. After a routine restart by holding power button on remote - whoever has it knows how under powered the Android part of it is - the TV didn't come back.
Normally, I would see Sony logo fading in and out and then Android animation and on screen menu. Right now, its just Sony logo and TV shuts down and then doesn't react to either remote or side buttons. I have to unplug the power and plug back to see the Sony logo again and that's it. I could only find some useless (in my situation) guides targeted to never models, but mine is Android 5.0 based so hardware reset by pressing [power] and [-] doesnt work. I also tried to put latest firmware pkg onto usb hoping tv will pick it up but nothing either.
I've also got pretty disappointing response from Sony support - they basically told me about hardware buttons reset method which is not suitable at all for Android 5.0 model. And thats it. I think its software problem - but I can be wrong - and not sure really what to do - is it worth trying to repair or is it time for new TV ?
Any ideas ?
