Loss of/no signal of freeview channels every time I turn the TV on.

I have recently bought a Sony Bravia (Google) TV model KD-85X8xJ. It’s wall mounted and did a direct swap with our old TV in the kitchen. Since using the tv we are experiencing low signal strength on certain SD channels like BBC1, BBC2, Quest etc. The HD channels have full strength and quality. Internet all connecting fine. When the tv is switched off and switched back on later in the day or the day after we have no channels at all and I have to do a full retune to get channels and the signal quality is still poor for some.

All other TVs have no issues with signal strength and they are a mixture of new and old, the aerial is a loft one and receives good signal strength and quality. The old LG TV which the new one replaced had no issues with signal. It’s the same coaxial cable which was put into the new TV.

When the tv is switched on and I look at the transmitter information it defaults to camb/beds when our default transmitter is oxon/bucks.

I can’t seen to change the transmitter but it doesn’t account for why we lose all channels every time the tv is turned on!!

can anyone advise?
thanks

Hi @Klockie

I’m afraid that if none of us fellow customers can help, it may be worth contacting Sony support.

@LightFoot  Do these TVs have a CMOS battery like PCs and consoles?

Hey Klockie, I agree with SonyUser30Yrs, the TV will need a repair, but before that try contacting an antenna specialist.
