I plug in a hard drive full of movies and pictures. It works well.
But you do not get Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD MA, DTS: X Master Audio. Sony has blocked the possibility from all apps to send out via e-arc.

Hey Lassesu, have you tried to remove the USB stick before turning off the TV and plugging it back after powering on, had it make any difference?

Have tried with two different hard drives and through network sharing. Equal to everything.
Someone who can test share a file with the different audio formats and see if it works for you but Sony TV.
