Recently bought the Sony KD55XH9505 and finding that the itv hub loads easily as does BBC i player etc. Problem is that the ITV hub will give me all channels except ITV 1 (Which happens to be the channel most sought by my other half for Coronation St catchup). Tried carrying out a fix which other users have used, having experienced the same issue on different Sony tv models, but cannot find an app on this tv 'YVservicehostAPK' where clearing the cache then clearing data could possibly produce a solution. Anyone else having this problem or does anyone have a fix which could work on this set?
I emailed the big boss at Sony and got this response for my trouble.
They obviously feel it's not their issue and will not be continuing looking at this issue.

Upon investingating the issue further with the engineering team, we have been informed that the specific issue with the ITV1 service is related to recent changes implemented by ITV within the ITV Hub. This is not related to the functionality of the set itself. We are unfortunately unable to assist further with regard to this matter, as the issue is related to a service being provided by a 3rd party, and there is no further technical advice that Sony as the manufacturer of the set can offer in this case. If you wish to obtain further information in regards, please liaise with ITV Hub support directly.
We are sorry not to be able to suggest an alternative solution in this circumstance.

You can't help but fall down 🤣 at that reply but sadly it is a typical "not my problem" dismissive and "passing the buck" type response. Not good atall.
The app is not a generic download from the google play store and so it's not a case of the customer finding a problem and then reporting the problem to the developer (ITVHub). This is bundled and embedded within the Sony (Select and LiveTV/CatchUp) apps and surely means Sony are responsible for providing end-user support, regardless of where the actual problem lies. So this is just plain bad customer service and if they had any genuine consideration for the customer problem they could provide a proper explanation and even take it up with ITVHub directly to resolve.
Rayw53 I think you have been in touch with ITVHub so can you send this reply to ITVHub support? It would be interesting to know their response. At best, they can say they will investigate and provide a fix (not sure how we can get it unless through a Sony update – oh dear). At worst they can say it’s not a problem with other android devices so it is not a ITVHub problem and is specific to the Sony TV and it's them that need to fix it. Oh dear again.

The fact that itvhub isn't available through the Sony Google play store site sort of makes it Sony's problem to resolve with itvhub / youview. Imho...😂😂😂😂
Could also email the Sony big boss again and copy in some tech press sites 😂😂😂😂

ITV has updated ITV Hub which should include a fix for the issue you were having with the postcode. We've tested it and we're able to enter a postcode and watch content. Can you give this a try and let us know how you get on? The ITV Hub app version should be 1.61.9.

That's great news. How do we get it onto the TV?
I didn't need to do anything, itvhub had already updated to the latest version.
After many communications with different Sony Support group I received this today 2nd April 2021.
"With reference to your enquiry regarding your Sony KD-55AG9, we would like to highlight that we do not have a known issue on our products with iTV hub. "
There is no problem with any other TV that I own or any other TV, to my knowledge, that is sold in the UK except with Sony !

I've seen this issue in a different thread and the user had contacted ITV support and they advised using an aerial.
