ITV channel 1 not available in ITV hub. KD55XH9505

Recently bought the Sony KD55XH9505 and finding that the itv hub loads easily as does BBC i player etc. Problem is that the ITV hub will give me all channels except ITV 1 (Which happens to be the channel most sought by my other half  for Coronation St catchup). Tried carrying out a fix which other users have used, having experienced the same issue on different Sony tv models, but cannot find an app on this tv 'YVservicehostAPK'  where clearing the cache then clearing data could possibly produce a solution. Anyone else having this problem or does anyone have a fix which could work on this set?

Received a firmware update from Sony yesterday.

Download and installed today.

It didn't work , no change still doesn't accept post code in itv hub.

I have let Sony and youview know .

Slightly disappointed, but not completely surprised.

Will update again at some point.

You don't even need an adaptor, in fact, you can just unplug the antenna after the initial tuning as it's no longer needed by Youview. Not many know about this but you should try it.

I don't have an aerial, and even if I did I doubt I would get a signal. We are in a part of Kent that doesn't get a great signal an my roof is only one storey high ( bungalow)

Second point I consider that a work around and not a fix.

So I will keep persevering with Sony and youview until they fix the issue, or I lose the will and sideload the catch-up TV apps. 😂

But make sure to keep the aerial connection handy for after the habitual Factory Resets 😛

I have used the tuning and aerial disconnect approach and it works - sometimes. Most of the time when opening the LiveTVCatchup app to access ITVHub I get a warning/error about a weak aerial signal. No surprise there. But I have found that if you press  the "OK/Enter" button you then get a black screen and nothing else. But, if you press a 2nd time, you will sometimes get access to Guide, MyTV , Apps TV shows etc. where ITVHub will open successfully and ITV1 shows are viewable.  I have also found accessing ITVHub via the SonySelect app sometimes works.

Additionally, I have found sideloading ITVHub using hoshsadiq's apk's from GitHub doesn't seem to work, as you get stuck in that stupid "give me your postcode" loop.

On the whole a frustrating and highly unsatisfactory situation, which along with other faults such as random crashes/restarts, has for me dented my enthusuiasm for Sony "Smart" TV's.

Hoshsadiq just enables you to load the itv and All4 Players outside of YouView; but they are the same Players as inside YouView, with the same tuning requirements.

I think the idea is that you should now be able to get these Players outside of YouView, and without having to tune terrestrial TV, as long as you give a postcode.

But YouView are blanking me on their Community when I ask about this 😢

royabrown2 's reply prompted me to check again (I'm a glutton for punishment) the sideloaded app to try and figure out a consistent behaviour. What I had not realised or forgot to do when using the ITVHub player was to disable theLiveTVCatchup/Youview app from the system menu. Once I did that it works just fine, so that's a MUST do for anybody trying this approach.

So now I have all the player apps loaded and accesssible from Favourites, thus making it quicker/easier to swop between TV and all the player apps.

But unfortunately, it doesn't eliminate the other problems I have encountered with these player apps, including, loss of sound, sudden reboots, and recently reported by others in this foirum, ITVHub will stop playing after an advert. It rather spoilt our watching of Finding Alice last night, resorting  to using Chromecast to continue watching.

Just another annoying fault with this 2020 TV.

Sony sent me this link, might fix some of the niggly issues. It doesn't fix the itvhub issue. Youview believe it's a change that itv need to make to fix the , I don't like your postcode issue.
