Hi all,
Recently installed the latest update on my new Bravia (loving the TV) and enabled eARC (direct to a Yamaha RX-V6A) and now I find that sometimes when I turn the TV on there's no sound output.
I can "fix" the issue (for that session) by swapping the audio output from PCM to Auto 1 and back to PCM again.
Reporting in case others are experiencing this issue.
Hi @denorx
Have you tried switching Dolby Digital Plus to Dolby Digital? Some ppl said that works for them as a workaround.

I have tried that and many other options that are available. Switching to DD only doesn't completely fix it. Instead of 30 minutes until the sound goes off it works for an hour or so.
In that case, the best thing to do would be to contact Sony support as each individual case reported brings us closer to a solution.

Bought this TV a few days ago and have an eARC Sony HT -X8500 sound bar attached via HDMI. Sound drops for a few seconds when I'm using the eArc function. This seems to only happen when streaming Netflix or Disney etc. I resorted to turning off the eARC and just using ARC.
Hello guys this is my first post
i have Sony 85 inch KD85XH9095B connected Arcam AV40 for surround sound Processor
Both these have eARC
I am have eARC issue
1 when SKY box is set Dolby digit out
the sound returning back to Av40 via sony tv is slow motion , more like techno robotic but most weird thing is if I switch eARC off on the TV the sound lets DD PLUSE to AVR
2 eAR. mode on sound returning from my Blur ray dvd will only allow 3.2.1 but will not allow 3.4.1
I have the most up to date HDMI cable I have even tried optical HDMI
I am sure some thing is wrong with Sony tv software - i checked and the software for this tv is up to date
can someone please help
