Hi @dave306 and welcome to the Community

I may have misunderstood the question but you can't use YouView with a satellite dish as

it tunes Freeview channels not Freesat channels.

(Why can’t I reply to your posting, so I had to put it here?)

Possibly a misunderstanding, as it is well-known that if you have YouView as your EPG, you can’t move to the satellite side of these TVs at all, whereas if you have Freeview as your EPG, you can, albeit that you have to move out of Freeview to the ‘Now and Next’ satellite tuner.

But worth also remarking that these are satellite channels, but there is no Freesat here, as Freesat is an EPG for (certain) satellite channels.

Which is better than just Now and Next, for the channels that Freesat shows,  but of course not as good as the Sony arrangement which gets you all the channels there are out there, for the bird you are pointing at, and is not restricted to just the ones that Freesat shows.

My favourite bedtime reading is a Sony product manual…

Thanks for your detailed explanation mate.  Things are a bit clearer to understand now.
