Bravia showing the wrong HDMI port for the soundbar

Hi All

I am trying to connect a Sony soundbar to a Sony TV using ARC.

The ARC port is HDMI 3 and the cable is in HDMI 3. There is only one HDMI port on the soundbar (which is ARC).

No sound comes out of the sound bar at all. I have tested the sound bar with the optical cable and it works fine.

The Bravia Sync device list has two lines:

Line 1) Device = "Player 1" Input = "HDMI 1" Audio system = "Connected" Type = "HT-CT790"

Line 2) Device = "Audio system" Input = "HDMI 1" Audio system = [blank] Type = "HT-CT790"

As a test I have pulled out all HDMI cables except the sound bar which is in HDMI 3 ARC.

Please help!

Best regards

Paul

Hi @Connovar79. The actual model numbers of your TV and Soundbar may help ...

No.

The sound bar still comes up as HDMI 1 (it's in 3ARC) and I have to use the optical cable as well as the HDMI.

😞

I think I’ve just fixed it! In our sound bar I had it plugged into the wrong HDMI I didn’t see the three next to each other and the HDMI needs to go in the ‘HDMI out’ on the sound bar and now it’s fine without the audio cable
