So, will we finally get Bbc iPlayer support in time for the World Cup? Announcement coming imminently:

They are on the supported list and show the splash so would assume so.
well eamailed jasmine at cust support again calling her out on this now, that after a day or two we all figured out what sony wouldnt tell us and we know we will never get the support as the sets physically arnt powerful enough to stream at such bitrates. also state they cant blame the bbc for this one and asked if there is someone higher up in sony uk i can talk to about this as to be honest we where all sold (especially the top end sets) supposed 4k hdr wonder machines, when in fact we ended up with a screen that can do it but internals that as lacking.
lets see if they blame the bbc again for them making a weak tv when it comes to streaming.
Some good replies there! Sorry for any previous confusion - the Stats for Nerds is in YouTube, which is where I was streaming my test videos from.
I'll raise a complaint with Sony too, now that we've got to the bottom of where the problem lies.
What email address are you going to use as I will probably do the same?
They don't seem to have a direct email address until you've opened a case, which is ok as it gives you a unique case number. The web page is here: http://services.sony.co.uk/supportmvc/en/Contact/Email?pdp=kd-49xe9005&cat=lcd-tvs-android-xe90xx_x9...
However that's for me as a 49xe9005 owner - make sure you change the TV model on the web page as you go through.
Interesting - the latest firmware for my model (which I already downloaded and installed) has been withdrawn. See message added to this support page....

I had an e-mail from Jasmine telling me they are still investigating my query... well, the world cup starts today!
Luckily for me the Virgin V6 box has been updated for HLG and I have the world cup splash screen on iPlayer and een the FA cup test loop.

That is interesting. What about us souls who have already updated to this? Do we need to revert back to the previous version?

Nah, it was withdrawn because it was bricking people's TVs, if you have already upgraded and its fine, don't worry.
just had a responce on twitter from fadi.
i, we understand your frustration about this. We have published information about the matter here: https://bit.ly/2sWIt0X . ^Fadi
so now sony are saying their engineers are working on getting more support, ok good to know. but a couple of issues first up cust supports already told me its bbc's fault for not supporting the tv's so thats a lie. and secondly as we have worked out the sets arnt powerful enough to stream it in the first place. fired that back at him god knows if they will reply to it or admit cust support flat out lied.
