Hi
I updated my TV to Oreo, it's working fine except that after a long period of standing by, when I turn the TV on, it will show the Home Screen for 1 sec, then it reboots it self, it shows Sony logo then Android logo animation, it taks 1 min or so to boot.
If I hit power to go to standby and turn it back on again, or in a short amount of time, it won't reboot itself, I only notice this after a long period of time of stand by, e.g. turn on TV next day, it will go to this boot cycle.
My setup:
XF9005 on Oreo V6.5830 android, connect Sonos Beam with ARC, connected to internet by Wifi
Sony could you confirm if this is a known bug in the update?
Hi wuyuankai,
Have you tried restoring the factory settings?
All the best,

Been struggling with this for weeks. Updated 3 weeks ago, tv keeps resetting every morning, or when I leave it for hours in standby. Bad part is I bought two of these (XBR800D) and they both are doing it. It's very annoying. Gonna try the wifi trick you guys spoke about on both, test it for a week and I'll come back with results.
Hi wuyuankai,
I've actually heard from some users that this problem was solved by the reset. Some also mentioned that it was solved by disabling VPN connections. I'd say it's worth a try.

I am getting the same issue with my 49” xf9005. Since updating to Oreo if the TV is left on standby for a while, eg a day or so, it won’t turn on. I need to switch it off completely at the plug and then it will restart. Really inconvenient.
I try with reset, enable disable wifi but issue came back within a day.
The problem comes back after updating to the latest firmware V6.6510.
Now it will reboot everytime I turn on the TV.
Note that I did a factory reset after updating the firmware
I don't see anything in the changelog that refers that they fixed the issue.
Hi to all new here
Annie say that this is not a new problem at all.
My 2 year Sony TV does this. The day I got it
Now I think I find out my problem is that if u run my vpn the it will do it the next day.
If I leave it off the TV does not do it. Now I have just got my 9005 and it does it on this two.
So could it be a app that you are running.
Hope this helps
Got the same reboot problem after a period of standy.
Sony told me to turn off;
Inactieve TV standby - off
ECO - Power Saving - off
and
Guide bijwerken in standby - off
Automatisch controleren op updates - off
Seems to work so far but have no clue why this is causing a problem
