Brightness Controls

I own a Vaio VPCEB3C5E and the brightness controls have ceased to work. I cannot change the brightness using the F5/F6 or by changing power settings in the control panel.

When I try to adjust the brightness the bar shows the minimum setting selected but the screen is probably at full brightness.

I have checked the drivers and updated them. The Vaio has a ATI Mobility Radeon HD5470

Many thanks for any help with a fix.

Are the other Function keys working OK?

Volume = Fn + (F3/F4)

Muting = Fn +(F2)

Or is it just the Brightness = Fn + (F5/F6) that does not work?

When you say you have updated the drivers for the Graphics Adapter, where did you get the new driver from?

:thinking:

Hi!

I'm having the same problem as Pilotdavo.(only difference is my vaio is vpceb3s1e).
All the fn keys work perfectly, only the brightnes setting is stuck on full.
The option to change it disapeared from control panel.(from everywhere...)
Thank you in advance for any help.

Hi!

I'm having the same problem too, my Vaio is VGN-NW21SF, my function keys working well (except the Fn + F5/F6 problem)

My Vaio have a ATI Radeon Mobility HD4570, and the graphic drivers are up to date, I download them from the official site (support.amd.com)

I use Windows 7 64bit home premium with service pack 1

TY 4 the advice!

Hi Everyone!

I did a little research in this subject, and I found this:

Maybe this will help us! :wink:
