Hello,I have a SONY VAIO RX 305. WHen itstarts to boot it the green bar loading freezes. I can't boot into safe mode, I've tried all the startup options, just freezes! I found out that it halts when it gets to the file btkrnl.dll, I know for a fact that file is used for my bluetooth adaptor.
Please help me asap. I tried to run the recovery cds and it freezes, even tried another windows xp cd, freezes! How do I tell windows xp to bypass that file so that it can load up.
Any help is much appreciated..
Im very desperate!!!:smileycry:
What else could it be if my pc freezes when I try to run the sony recovery cds? I mean there's no HD activity , nothing! It just sits there doing nothing... I managed to reinstall it two days ago when I left my pc to cool overnight. Could it be a power problem also?
1) Is it under warranty?
2) Is there no hardware switch to turn bluetooth off?
Computer is about two years old, hence the warranty has expired. I don't think it's a bluetooth problem now, as the computer refuses to load the recovery cds, and just freezes.
I think it's overheating, the cpu is about 52 degrees celsius.
52 degrees C isn't too bad.
Strange, because btkrnl.dll is the kermel for bluetooth operations in XP.
It's even more strange because one time I left my pc overnight to cool and the morning after it worked!!!
I'll let my pc cool down and remove some pci cards and the extra ram I added before. Would you think that would help?
Very strange.
As Rob said, it's normal for a PC to get to that tempreture.
I would take out installed memory (leave in one module) and take out all PCI cards.
I've taken out the extra memory, still freezes!
What PCI cards do you have ?
