Hello,I have a SONY VAIO RX 305. WHen itstarts to boot it the green bar loading freezes. I can't boot into safe mode, I've tried all the startup options, just freezes! I found out that it halts when it gets to the file btkrnl.dll, I know for a fact that file is used for my bluetooth adaptor.
Please help me asap. I tried to run the recovery cds and it freezes, even tried another windows xp cd, freezes! How do I tell windows xp to bypass that file so that it can load up.
Any help is much appreciated..
Im very desperate!!!:smileycry:
Try turning off Bluetooth for now.
Windows XP wont even boot, so I cant turn bluetooth off. I just want to reinstall the whole thing, how do I tell windows to bypass that btkrnl.sys that's causing the problem?
So you can't press F8 before the logo and do Step-by-step startup?
No, all that does is show options such as safe mode, safe mode with command prompt etc, there is no step by step. I've wiped out the data on my C drive to see if it would run the recovery discs, still freezes.
What's strange is that this happened to me 2 days ago. I left the pc overnight to cool down, the morning after it worked. Is the heat causing any problems you think?
You did also add SP1 before restarting after restore?
Yes, I installed SP1. Right now my CPU temps were 50 degrees celsius. Im waiting at least 4 hrs to see if cooling down makes it not freeze. BTW, i used a wiper program in dos to erase my HD.
IM REALLY DESPERATE!!! Please help someone...It freezes straight after it loads the sony vaio rx 305 recovery cds!!!
About 6 months ago I added an extra 256mb ram, and 1 month ago I added a usb2 pci card. SHould I remove them and see what happens?
I would try removing the extra RAM first.
