Windows 7 disk?

Hello all,

I will purchase some sony vaios soon, I uderstand that they come with win 7 preinstalled and a back-up partition. I am wondering if it is possible to get the official win 7 dvd package for the licensing in case my hdd will fail.

The facility exists in the Recovery Centre to copy the Recovery Partition to a set of 3 DVDs.

The first DVD is bootable and will do the same job as the Recovery Partition if it becomes corrupt or the HDD fails.

You cannot get the original Microsoft Installation disc as you have only bought the Sony OEM version of Windows which will only install on the Vaio you buy - not a full retail version.
