VPCEB3X5E - Sound tinny and low volume

Recently purchased the VPCEB3X5E laptop and have found the sound to be very low and tinny. No real bass to it at all. Tried the BIOS (no options there to make changes) and have configured what all I think there is to do on the OS/Soundcard side to no real effect. Having used many computers, this does seem to be the worst for sound I have come across. Given that it had the free blu-ray player, this is a bit disappointing. External speakers are not an option.

Any suggestions appreciated.

hi bought a VPCEB3F4E on friday from sony having probs with my volume set to max still very low also fn keys not working not sure must be a sony thing good luck in finding a fix.
