Hi Everyone,
Totally fed up with sony laptops. I wonder if anyone could help to solve problem with my sony vaio (VPCEB1E0E). Since Feburary it takes ages to load to startup and even after that it keeps freezing in between while operating.I'm not runing any such programs even there are not a lot programs downloaded. Earlier I thought that it is due to anti virus program (Norton) I uninstall that and put Kaspersky internet security 2011 as I thought there was virus but I scanned it with Kaspersky but it came out with nothing. Any idea why does it doing this behaviour and how I can resolve this issue ? And battery icon also missing as well.
Any help much appreciated.
thanks
I see you have asked the same question four times before.
As no solution has been found, I recommend that you back up your data and carry out a full System Recovery back to factory settings and then only install programs that are Windows 7 and 64-bit compatible. You will need to run Microsoft and Vaio Updates after the reinstall.
If this does not resolve the issue then contact Vaio Support for fuirther advice as it is almost impossible to diagnose the cause of your problems here and your Vaio will probably need to be inspected.
To carry out a System Recovery back to factory settings, look in your Troubleshooting and Recovery Manual here: -

Hi,
I've had the same happen to me, several times. I have no idea why, but it seems to be after a sleep/hibernate. The only option for me was a rebuild, which I've done 3 times in the last 2 weeks. Beyond a joke.
It might also have something to do with the hard drive? I had excessive drive use according to Norton (but no viruses).
Now the machine won't boot to windows, or from the Assist button, or from the backup recovery disks. What a noisy piece of junk, as it's only 15 months old. Not the quality I expect from Sony. At least I have backups so will be able to restore eventually.
Any help would be appreciated, although I guess I'll try changing the hard drive next.
Thanks,

Hi there, I sure hope you get your vaio sorted out, after all the last time I looked they weren't giving them away free to the british public.
Our vaio is just 15 months old and is over heating freezing, shuting down, why won't they give all the laptop makers a 3 years standard warranty.
What a let down.
