Schau mal im Bios nach (F2-Taste während des Bootscreens mehrmals drücken, dort gibt es in einem der Karteireiter eine Option "Silent Boot" o.ä. Dort kannst Du den Startsound deaktivieren, mitsamt der Animation. Dann F10 drücken, um BIOS zu verlasssen und die Änderung zu speichern. Es erscheint anschließend nur noch ein kurzer und stummer VAIO-Schirm vor dem Booten von WinXP.

this option can be deactivated in the BIOS of your VAIO. Deactivate the option, press F10 to exit the BIOS and save all changes, and that should be it.
