also when i change reslutions it can be 8 smaller screens, shall i open it up and see if grapihc card is loose, it says ATI IGP 345M -cant find drivers for it on ATI site, if i open it up will i find it or is it onboard or something like that
when i connect to external monitor it fits the whole screen on any resolution on my 19" LCD 5:4
but the text is slightly blured and "auto adjust" doest fix it like it normal does
if you go to the download part on this site down load the drivers for your laptop i have got the link for you
your laptop drivers
Only problem is that the windows driver is not used until windows loads so i fear that the problem is more of a problem than just a stray driver.
Do you have the hardware test on your start menu?
If you do run the graphics test - any errors?
If not then the only solution is to send it in for repair and it'll be a new graphics chip i fear and that will be very expensive out of warranty.
Make sure the resolution matches the size of the screen. So in the specs it might say 1348x whatever.
Hi, thanks for replies
which hardware test on start menu ?
which graphic card test, 3d mark ?
shall i open the laptop up and see if graphic card is inserted properly ???
I doubt you have it but start -> VAIO hardware Diagnostics -> Hardware test
The graphics card is soldered to the board so there is no way that it can be loose.
I think that the only way you will be able to fix it is to send it back to Sony for repair. Out of warranty this will cost you £191.61.
If you want the repair you need to contact Sony here .
Hi RickyG512
Hopefully Sony should be in contact with you soon, could you check that your registration details are correct..
hi,
can you tell me where i can download vaio hardware dianosis ?
so i cant do anything if i open it up ?
is there any other way of fixing it without giving it to sony because i cant really afford £200 ?
if not i dont think its worth £200, can i not sell it for parts ? coz it has a widescreen 15.4", 512mb, 40gb, celeron 3.06, double layer dvd-rw
thanks guys
